FEW PEOPLE KNOW action like Sam Hargrave. The 40-year-old stuntman has been a part of some of Hollywood biggest flicks in the past 10 years. He notably served as stunt coordinator for several Marvel movies, including Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. Aside from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hargrave has also served as stunt coordinator for films in the The Hunger Games franchise, Atomic Blonde, Suicide Squad (2016), and Deadpool 2.
But these days Hargrave is spending time in the director’s chair, most recently as the head of Extraction and the upcoming Extraction 2 with Chris Hemsworth (out on Netflix starting June 16th). But all this directing doesn't mean Hargrave is stepping away from the action. Here, the 40-year-old shares with us his six essentials.

In the 15 years Hargrave has been traveling for film, he’s only forgotten his guitar once. “I love playing music because it forces me to disconnect from the day's work and transition into a state of creativity and relaxation,” says Hargrave.

“Having a way to use your bodyweight to pull is super important to me,” says Hargrave. “I’ve been using a travel collapsible pull-up bar for many, many years.”
